U2 at Mile High

U2 at Mile High

Last month my life with music came full circle. The first stadium show I ever saw was U2, back in ’87. So, it’s fitting that the first stadium show I photographed was also U2. The only bummer…I didn’t get to stay for the whole show but the first three songs rocked!

Arcade Fire @ First Bank Center

Arcade Fire @ First Bank Center

I’m playing catch up here on the blog, as usual.  I had the pleasure of covering Arcade Fire’s set at the First Bank Center back in April for SoundSpike.  Here are few pics: Check out a few more pics over at SoundSpike.

Adam Lambert at the Paramount Theater in Denver

Adam Lambert at the Paramount Theater in Denver

I came out of the closet about being an Adam Lambert fan back when he was performing on American Idol.  And yes, I admit that as well, I do watch  Idol…it’s pop culture, how can I not.  When I heard Adam’s Glam Nation Tour was making a stop in Denver I all but sold my [...]

Passion Pit at the Odgen

Passion Pit at the Odgen

What an AWESOME show to watch but it was definitely a challenge to shoot. Probably one of the most difficult shows I’ve photographed. You can see the full set of images at Reverb. OR, I’m trying something new on my website, a “Stories” section.  It’s a work in progress but, you can also see them [...]

St. Vincent at the Bluebird

St. Vincent at the Bluebird

This post is a weeee bit late, but I had the pleasure of photographing St. Vincent’s set at the Bluebird last month.  AMAZING!!  Annie Clark had me in a trance for 90 minutes.  It was heaven!  Here are a few of my favorites: You can see the complete set, along with a review by Cassandra [...]

Jeremy Facknitz, The Charlie Milo Trio, Mark’s Midnight Carnival Show, Leftmore @ the Black Sheep

Jeremy Facknitz, The Charlie Milo Trio, Mark’s Midnight Carnival Show, Leftmore @ the Black Sheep

Last Thursday I had the opportunity to check out some local Colorado Springs music at the Black Sheep while shooting for the Denver Post Reverb. I’m far from a music critic, but if you live in the Springs you should definitely go check all these guys out, they put on a great show. If you [...]

Flyleaf @ The Fox

Flyleaf @ The Fox

I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect going into the Fox Theatre. Flyleaf is a Christian rock band and I am an agnostic lesbian. My experience living in Colorado Springs for over 17 years is that those two wouldn’t seem to mix very well, so I felt a little uneasy walking through the doors of [...]

State Radio, Elephant Revival at the Black Sheep

State Radio, Elephant Revival at the Black Sheep

Wednesday was another great night of live music at the Black Sheep in Colorado Springs. I was extremely happy to be shooting State Radio for the Denver Post Reverb Music Blog.  First, because State Radio is awesome and I was so happy they decided to make Colorado Springs a stop on their current tour.  If [...]

Updates Since March – Music Highlights

Updates Since March – Music Highlights

Just a quick update on the goings on since my last post, which was forever ago. Most of my time has been spent editing, laying out, and printing out my forthcoming updated portfolio. I’ll have two new and improved books, one Travel and one Lifestyle. Also be on the lookout for a re-designed website and [...]

South by Southwest 2009, A Few Favorite Moments

South by Southwest 2009, A Few Favorite Moments

This was my first South by Southwest experience. I was fortunate enough to shoot for my long time friends over at the Austin Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.  Wow, what a fun and exhausting time.  I’ll spare you what would undoubtedly be a very poorly written narrative and just stick with what I know, photos.  So, [...]

I Heart Jesse Harris

I Heart Jesse Harris

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing the Joshua Radin set at the Black Sheep for Reverb. Opening for him, were Meiko and Jesse Harris. I am soooo glad I went early enough to catch Jesse Harris. His music is absolutely beautiful. And Bill Dobrow on percussion was fabulous. Oh and I loved his [...]

I Think I Have a Set List Fetish

I Think I Have a Set List Fetish

Photographed The Magic Mice at the Meadowlark in downtown Denver.  If you don’t know The Magic Mice, CHECK THEM OUT!  Their sound is great.  I have yet to get the song Storm Coated out of my mind. The Denver Post listed them as one of the bands you may not know yet but will. They’ve [...]

City and Colour

City and Colour

Dallas Green has an amazingly beautiful voice. He’s a member of the group Alexisonfire and has a solo project, City and Colour. I first saw City and Colour perform at Austin City Limits last September. Then was lucky enough to catch Dallas again opening for Tegan and Sara at the Paramount in Denver. City and [...]

Girl in a Coma

Girl in a Coma

Back in October of last year, Girl in a Coma put on a great show opening for Tegan and Sara at the Paramount Theater in Denver. I’ve finally made the time to get these image posted.

Mile High Music Festival Photos

Mile High Music Festival Photos

In June I had the opportunity to photograph the Mile High Music Festival, my first time shooting a music festival…very exciting! I was only able to make the first day, so I was a little bummed about missing Rodrigo y Gabriela and Dave Matthews …next time. Anyway, these photos represent a few of the highlights [...]

New Orleans Entertainers

New Orleans Entertainers

When I first found out I would be going to shoot in New Orleans, I was…well…less than thrilled. I’d never been there but my vision of New Orleans had been tainted by Mardi Gras stories. That’s just not my kinda thing. A very important lesson was reinforced, don’t make a judgment on something unless you’ve [...]
