12 Apr Tourist in Rocky Mountain National Park

I was in Rocky Mountain National Park doing a shoot for the Colorado Tourism Office. The assignment was to get a shot of Skylar Johnson, a local Bagpiper and long time resident of Estes Park. Skylar was being interviewed for the Colorado State Vacation guide and Colorado.com. We did a couple different scenarios in the park, this one up at Bear Lake. I’ve got a light set up, an assistant holding a reflector, it’s pretty obvious that I’m doing a shoot. (more…)

08 Apr A Walk Along the Rhein River

Every other year my family goes on vacation to Germany to visit my mom’s side of the family. They live in a town called Ketsch, which is right on Rhein River. We have a few must do’s every time we go… we walk along the river, we visit Heidelberg Castle, we spend a day at the Schlossgarten in Schwetzingen, we visit the cemetery, and we go to the Backfisch Fest. 05 Apr Behind the Scenes at Second City

One of the great things about being a photographer is that on occasion I get access to some pretty interesting stuff. While on a shoot in Chicago, I got to spend a couple hours shooting pre-show behind the scenes of a Second City performance. It was great to see comedic genius in action. The cast members were all great. Sadly, I couldn’t stay for the show itself. But I did at least get to hear the run through. Fantastic! (more…)

01 Apr Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Four friends, three weeks, two countries = 51 hours spent on planes/in airports, 37 hours spent on trains, didn’t bother to track how much time was spent in taxis and tuk tuks. Oh how I love to travel…seriously I do! So I’m starting my professional blog with a personal trip I took with friends to Thailand and Cambodia. Good times! And…we’re all still friends. (more…)
